to be good at multiple things to be great at it. The hard part about that is
the skills required to be great usually don’t reside in one person. To be great at Tableau, it’s nice to have
some SQL and data architect knowledge, have an analytics background or be
naturally analytical, be a creative thinker with some designing skills and also
have the business knowledge to pull everything together.
Now that is usually 2-3 different types of people, an IT
person, a business analyst, and a graphic designer. But to be great a Tableau you need to have
all those skills in one analytical package. This is why it is so hard to find a
great Tableau consultant, they can know everything about Tableau and be a great
analyst but lack the design part of things. Or they can be great at design but
